Inmate Letters

These convicted felons would like penpals.
Hi, my name is Kim. I'm a SWF in a Federal Camp doing a few years for talking about the wrong thing to the wrong person on a cell phone...STOP...don't say it...trust me, I already know! Never been married, don't have any kids, but I do have lots of nieces and nephews. I'm 5'5", brown eyes and hair, ok and a little grey. I was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and resided in Fort Worth, Texas. I read a lot now and also write inspirational poetry and aspire to publish a book one day, maybe even write a song.

Do you know that there are thousands of men and women sitting in prison, just waiting for someone to write and share life experiences?  These female and male inmates have nothing but time on their hands and can't wait to hear from you! Whether you just want a friend, pen pal, someone to talk or even a possibility of a long lasting relationship you could find her/him here.   All of the inmates who are listed enjoy getting letters. Especially those letters which build their confidence within themselves.

While you correspond with the male or female inmates, you will learn a lot about each ones individual interests. Everyone has a different personality, some enjoy activities that others do not. You can meet that special person that will have the same interests as you do. Just have patience and correspond with several inmates, so that you can learn more about each one of them and then you will be able to select your favorite.

Even though these men and women are in prison, it doesn't mean that they are bad individuals. The majority of these inmates are fun, loving, clever, reliable, sexy and very passionate. They enjoy sports, music, arts, etc. just as you do.  However, they are convicted felons and caution should be used.  You will be asked to read our disclaimer before entering the personal ads area.

How To Write Letters To Prison Pen pals

Your Male and female prison pen pals do not have access to a computer or the Internet so all  correspondence will be through the U.S. Mail.  Write to all of the ones that appeal to you. That way you don't take the chance of missing out on any one of them.

Your first letter should always present a general description of yourself. This would include your age, your height, your weight, your hair color, eye color your complexion and any other details that you care to describe. It is recommended that you mention your occupation or the kind of work you do. The inmates are always interested in your family and your special interests or hobbies.  We do not recommend giving out your phone number, especially on the first letter as the only method they can call is collect.  The collect calls from prison are usually at a very high rate.

It is important that you personalize each letter that you compose for each individual.  It is very easy to discover if a person is sending out numerous letters to the ladies using a duplicated letter and changing only the name of the inmate. This is not a sincere effort and will not produce the desired results that you would hope for. It is also highly recommended that you prepare your letters on a computer or by using a typewriter. This makes it much easier for the ladies to read your letters. If you have a very neat and presentable penmanship then handwriting would be more personal. You will have to be the judge of which method you want to use. If the inmates were given a choice of how their letters were written they would usually choose the more personal handwriting method.

It is suggested (but not required) you include at least two photographs in your first letter. One photo should be a close up view of your upper body and face. Try to pose a friendly and pleasant smile. The second photo should show the full body pose. It is always a good idea to pose with a pet in your photo if you have one. Another option would be a photo of yourself while doing one of your favorite pastimes.

This is my friend David Rodriquez. He's an inmate in a Texas prison. I've known David for many years and he's been a very good friend to me. We correspond regularly. I made this film short as a way of getting his story out there. David is deserving of so much more than he ever asks for. He did his crime when he was 19. It was a homicide and things did not go well for him. As with every prisoner, there were alot of circumstances that lead up to David doing what he did. Coming from a poor family, he did not receive good representation by the state at his trial. He's been in prison for 12 years. David doesn't give excuses for what he did. He takes full responsibility. David is about as sincere and down to earth as anyone you'll ever meet. In spite of what happened, there is a conscience there and a very good one. There are so many people who really don't deserve a second chance, but David is not one of them. I hope he gets some breaks down the road. Anyone interested in writing to David can do so at: DAVID G.
